Abigail Elizabeth Cochran...

I am your father.

She arrived this morning somewhere around 8:20am at 7lbs 9oz and 20 inches long.  It was so exciting for me, the guy who fears holding babies, to hold my daughter for the first time.  My daughter.  The sound of that mystifies me;  I'm sure that I'm still in shock.  Anyway, I really need to make this short because I'm at the home computer.  Internet at the hospital is less than reliable and Rachel wanted some pictures up as soon as humanly possible.  These are just a few from the billion that have been taken on ours, Tara's, and Brenda's cameras:

Picturesque

While I was perusing through my podcasts I saw a demo of this neat little piece of software: Picturesque.  It's a very simple, very easy program that takes pictures and makes them very sleek and easily resized.  It's mainly a web-designer program.  One of the great features is that it works with a large variety of image types, including raw photos.  I downloaded the trial and produced a couple of quick pictures:

All you have to do is drop a picture into the program and several features are available to make a simple picture much more cool (I couldn't think of a better word).  The only drawback is that the program costs $34.95, but I'd say that price is well worth it for someone who is constantly uploading pictures.
